Gentle Yoga:  A very simple and soothing Hatha Yoga class suitable for all ages and abilities.  We will explore the basic postures of Hatha (physical) Yoga with the aid of props, walls, and the floor. Excellent for pre-natal, post-natal, injury recovery and those who may find it difficult to do strenuous exercise, or who prefer to do a modest but effective level of yoga training.

Basic Yoga & Beyond:  This class is suitable for all levels of experience, from the beginner who is looking to gain fundamental knowledge of the postures to those who look to deepen their practice by revisiting the basics. This class is also for those who lack flexibility or have injuries. We will be focusing on the details of alignment and the development of muscular core strength at a slower pace. Options will also be given to those who wish to go deeper.

Slow Flow Vinyasa:  A slower pace class structured similarly to a Vinyasa class in that it includes sun salutations and flowing from one posture to the next guided by the breath however we just drop the tempo a little bit. Postures might be held a little longer allowing you to move more mindfully through the practice. Options are given verbally to students looking for more of a challenge.

Back to Basics:  This class is great for beginners building a strong foundation for a brand new practice or for yogis who want to brush up on specific alignment points of basic yoga poses. Learn some basic breathing techniques (pranayama), as well as a detailed break down of individual poses (asana). There will be a few postures that will be focused on each week.  These postures will be broken down, building them up from their foundation, focusing on alignment, and bringing awareness deep inside the body.

Vinyasa Blend ~ Levels 1&2:  This class is for students evolving in their Yoga practice with a more dynamic Vinyasa style (flowing from posture to posture with breath awareness) as well as a blend of other Yoga methods and Pranayama techniques. This is a more energized class in which advanced postures will be incorporated. You will be guided through stages of poses with the opportunity to choose what stage works best for you to grow your practice. Some prior yoga experience is recommended.

All Levels: We welcome all levels of experience and invite each individual to explore his or her strengths and limitations through modifications according to each student's abilities. Detailed alignment instruction is provided. Beginners welcome.

Restorative Yoga:  All yoga is restorative but this class transposes one from doing to being. Through the use of props, the body is completely supported in active relaxation. As you soothe your nervous system, the body cools down and the mind calms. Breath awareness, mindfulness, sound vibration and deep relaxation round out this class to balance the body and mind.

Chair Yoga: This class provides a safe alternative Yoga practice for those who are unable to practice on a mat. You will be guided through moving all major muscle groups and joints while sitting in a chair. Yogic breathing techniques and deep relaxation are essential parts of this class.

Tai Chi for Arthritis with Nina Pfeffer:   Based on the Sun style of Tai Chi, Tai Chi for Health and Arthritis is easy to learn.  It improves flexibility, muscle strength, aligns body posture, improves balance and integrates the mind and body.  Medical research supporting the health benefits of Tai Chi has fanned its popularity around the world.

This Class is by Donation. No need to sign up in advance- just come.
